I love traveling alone. It’s not that I don’t love Aamir or my kids. I just love exploring new places on my own and being able to decide that I want to go into a cool vintage shop and not wonder if Zakaria will break anything. Though the kid is much better about explaining aplastic anemia to strangers than I am. Did you know that diseases aren‘t capitalized unless they are named after someone, i.e. aplastic anemia versus Hodgkins Lymphoma? I learned that from Stacey over at Be The Match. I am in Providence, Rhode Island. My lovely husband understands my need for alone time and live music. I am going to the Mumford and Sons show tonight. I usually would be checking out the city but it is freaking cold and so I am in my lovely hotel in the Robert Frost Suite. Cause that’s how I roll. Actually, I have no clue how I ended up with a suite but I will take it. While I do love traveling alone, I also am making lists in my head of where I want to travel as a family. Seattle...and not just because the Funko headquarters are there. Well, fine, maybe that is the main reason. Utah to see the parks. Of course it stings knowing Hadi won’t be able to experience our future travels. However, I know Jannah beats any park this life has to offer.
I was about to end this post but then I checked my email and guess what??? JennyCakes has hamantaschen!! I am beyond excited. Again, pretty sure Jannah has better apricots than here but I am still shaking my booty. And let’s be honest, that’s the real reason I travel alone.
Hamantaschen is a filled-pocket cookie or pastrg recognizable for its triangular shape, usually associated with the Jewish holiday of Purim. The shape is achieved by folding in the sides of a circular piece of dough, with a filling placed in the center. Hamantashen are made with many different fillings. Um, Dr. Jill...why didn’t you bring us hamantaschen? ;)
